Principles Of Our Work
Hi, my name is Michael Nelson and I’m the Senior Web Consultant here at Nelson Web & Tech Services.
I started this web design & online marketing company with one goal in mind, to share my extensive knowledge & passion for optimizing websites & helping small businesses market their local services online.
Likewise, our teams primary mission is to help both individuals and small businesses realize the full potential of their brand by capitalizing on the tremendous growth opportunities available through online marketing.
History
When I first started building websites about 15 years ago, I would never have imagined how fast the web would change in so little time.
Today, building and maintaining a successful website is no easy task, but there are plenty of skilled professionals and tools available to keep up up with the constantly evolving wave of new web technologies.
I know exactly how intimidating it can feel when you first start out on this journey; that’s why we’re here to help guide you every step of the way with getting started on the web.
The following are some of the key principles that we strive to follow for each and every web design project.
Design
Web design encompasses so much more than just simply presenting information on a web page.
There are many factors that affect how a user will interact with your website; including aspects such as color scheme, the underlying content management system and the overall look and feel of your website. All of these factors will play a major role in the final design of your website.
These seemingly subtle but important factors can have a meaningful impact on traffic conversions and whether or not potential customers will trust doing business with your brand.
A sleek and modern web design can instill confidence & trust within your company whereas an outdated design may reflect negatively on your potential clients.
User Experience (UX)
How users interact with your website says a lot about whether or not your overall web design strategy is effective.
Important user experience factors include things such as an easy to follow navigation structure, how fast and responsive the website is when viewed on a mobile device and the ease at which users can search for and find the necessary information that their looking for on your website.
Functionality
Let’s face it, most people want access to the information or content that their looking for in the blink an eye.
One of the fastest ways to drive potential customers away is by having an extremely slow website.
Part of improving the functionality of your website is optimizing your web pages for speed and organizing your navigation links in a clear and easy to follow hierarchy.
This should in theory help drive the ease at which users can effectively interact with your brand or services online.
